UN Compound, Nicosia, Cyprus 1958

 In 1958, the UN Compound in Nicosia, Cyprus was being used as a peacekeeping base by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). The UNFICYP was established in 1964 to prevent further conflict between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities on the island of Cyprus. The force remains in place to this day, with its current mandate set to expire on June 15,2023. The compound is still being use by UN peacekeeping force till now.
